Since our inception in 2003, we have made it a priority to give back to the communities around us, empower our people and play our part in saving our planet.

SMG Cares was founded in 2020 during a time when the world needed the two most important things that lie at the heart of SMG, kindness and compassion. SMG Cares goes beyond just doing what is right, it is about making a lasting impact on people’s lives and adjusting our behaviour as a company to achieve our long-term vision of environmental sustainability.

We believe in the power of education and training.

Providing our employees with equal opportunities to grow their knowledge and skills in the workplace is our way of empowering them to create a better life for themselves and their families. Education is the most powerful tool of all and one that can be shared between communities and passed on to fellow workers. Our allocation of resources to provide training, sponsorships and apprenticeships ensures not only that our employees are constantly kept up to date with the ever-changing work environment we find ourselves in, but that those who are eager to learn are given the opportunity and montorship they deserve.

A helping hand for our communities.

As a group of 27 dealerships and 5 Approved Repair Centres across KZN and the Western Cape, we are constantly exposed to the desperate situations within so many of the communities that surround us. SMG Cares is our way of reaching out to these communities and making a difference for them with the vision that we can in some way provide relief and hope in a time of need. Whether it be providing food to a desperate community, school uniforms and learning material for children, or assistance for an animal shelter, our compassion knows no boundaries and it is our responsibility to do more for those who do not have the means to help themselves.

Our journey towards environmental sustainability.

In the world we live in today we absolutely cannot turn a blind eye to our impact on the environment. The global shift towards more environmentally sustainable ways of working has inspired us to start with small changes from within and instill this shift in our staff and customers. We believe we are headed in the right direction towards a plastic free environment and a reduced output in waste and carbon footprint through our recycling initiatives, changes from plastic to glass or paper and the use of solar energy. Together we can make a difference for our planet to slow the effect of climate change, protect our land and seas and save our wildlife.
